Services Air startup B727-200FE operated its first flight today (Kinshasa-Mbujimayi-Kinshasa) with the inauguration of nonstop service between its base at Ndijili Airport in Kinshasa city (Dem. Rep. of Congo).
The Services airline, which took delivery of its first owned aircraft at the end of last month October 2008, says it will have a fleet of five Boeing 727-200FE and two Antonov 26 by the end of the month.
These aircraft will serve the inaugural route as well as a nonstop from Kinshasa to All over Dem. Rep. of Congo. Services air will be served twice daily, although this is scheduled to increase to five daily in the next few weeks. Services air will transport cargo in all over Dem. Rep. of Congo (Kinshasa, Kisangani, Isiro, Bunia, Beni, Butembo, Kindu, Goma, Bukavu, Lubumbashi, Mbujimayi, Kananga and Kalemie.
Services Air at its launch ceremony also unveiled two more city Kananga and Kalemie -which will be introduced on November 14. Fleet plans include the addition of three more Boeing 727-200FE super 27, believed to be, in November 2008, with an addition two Antonov 26 arriving each month through to 2009, when the carrier says it will have 10 aircraft.
Services Air says it will serve 14 cities throughout Kinshasa with 6 aircraft by the end of 2009. Its door to door delivery system is also set to be offered from the start of next year.

"Services air is the First airline which introduced better maintained aircraft in the Dem. Rep. of Congo currently fly given the low cost of domestic transportation."
